After Becca's Mom dies her Father moves her into his ancestral home in a little bitty town in the middle of nowhere.
As with any other move for a school age teenager Becca is worried about fitting in and finding a "clique" to be a part of.
She soon finds out that small town schools are much different than the one she is used to.
After the first day at school she brings home a couple of girls that she met and they try to perform a seance in her bedroom before calling it a night.
Little did they know that they opened up a channel to the other side in order to allow Becca's EXTREMELY long lost relative.
As Becca begins to communicate with the resident ghost she soon learns more about the history of the house she is living in but also the little town that her father dragged her to.
Just as she begins to enjoy having the ghost around things in her life begin to get complicated and Becca she tried find some common ground but it is difficult.

From start to finish this book reels you in and keeps you bobbing right along until you are so deep into the book that you have forgotten to even come up for air!
Dana has a wonderful way with words that make you believe you are right there with Becca and Allister.
She has an amazing gift that she has shared with all of us and I for one am extremely grateful.
If you need to get lost in a book for awhile I would recommend this one in a heartbeat!

Spiritus a Paranormal Romance Spiritus Series Book #1 edition by Dana Michelle Burnett Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

I thought the storyline was different from all the other books I have read in the paranormal romance arena. I like the way the two were able to connect. The end left me hoping for another book to follow.
I admit, I don't read a lot of ghost novellas. This one seemed to catch my eye, and I'm glad it did. I literally could not put this book down. I was immediately drawn in. The characters are well-developed. It was a good, light read that had me anticipating what would happen next. I felt as if I was right there with them, walking with Becca to find out what would happen. I would highly recommend this book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series, which I just purchased. Great job, Dana! Keep up the good work. I will be a loyal follower.
This book was ok. Of course, it's continuing to the next book. Becca and her dad move to his family home and Becca and couple of her new friends end up raising a ghost in her home. She's supposed to be his wife reincarnated from civil war time. She loves him right off, but to me the story was more wishy washy! If I can read the other books free, I might check them out.
This book starts out like so many other books and has a slow start in my view. But once you get into the book where learn about Becca and Alastor they're past how they loved and how they got to were they are now you will absolutely be hooked it takes twists and turns but not as many as it could as I said the book is slow passed but the story line and characters hook you....Becca and Alistor have a love that crosses, time, life and even death....who wouldn't want that...?
This was a good premise for a story, but I was annoyed at reading scenes and expressions from the Twilight series over and over again! Alastor/Edward laying on her bed with her--standing in the corner of the room. Even some of the things he said are straight out of the Twilight books and movies. The scene where she is under water and Alastor appears, then fades into inky swirls as she is pulled to safety, was a glaring copy. Becca--Bella--same personality, same hang ups. Too many more things to point out individually, but they jump out of the pages at you if you are a Twilight Fan.
I like it a bit more than "don't like" but not enough to give it an "it's ok." The story has potential.

Civil war hero comes home and goes crazy almost killing his wife; then wife defends herself killing him with his own gun. He is haunting the house where he died but is not stuck there... why doesn't he go to the ghost of his wife? He haunts Becca, a teen relative, instead. Besides being dead, the crazy ghost is jealous and attacks without remorse even going as far as trying to kill Becca.

To top it off it is a cliff hanger... I hate those, so it is a delete for this book also
This story was so not for me! I downloaded the free chapters and enjoyed meeting Becca and her new friends Ally and Billie, but when I downloaded the whole story and kept reading, the romance became disappointing and the ending - tragic.

Spoilers

Becca and her friends unknowingly call a ghost named Alastor into Becca's new home. Alastor was killed by his wife 100 years ago after returning from war mentally scarred and drowning his memories in alcohol and women. Becca discovers that she looks like Alastor's wife and can remember their courting and murdering him. She falls in love with his ghost and her feelings for Alastor prevent her from falling for a real boy named Jonah from school.

This romance is dysfunctional on so many levels that it really was agony to read. Even though Jonah's character was not flushed out very well, I was still wanting Becca to choose him and for Alastor to give her up. Although Becca's longing for Alastor was romantic at times, the pure weirdness of loving a ghost she could never touch and Alastor's obsessive behavior over her was not. Really, I thought that maybe Alastor's ghost just needed to be forgiven by Becca's body and he would find peace in death. Then Becca would be able to refocus her own feelings on to Jonah, who seems like a great guy, and live her own life. After all, it has been 100 years, she is not the same Becca that Alastor feel in love with anyways. Not. What. Happens. In the end, I just felt sorry for Jonah who was going to be hurt again by these two dysfunctional people that I really don't even like.

This story had many misspelled words (ex take for talk)that do lend to some momentary confusion. I never take off for editing, just warning those who can't take bad editing.

Would I/Did I buy it? Yes (.99)
Would I read it again? No
Would I recommend it to friends? No
