I cannot get enough from this series! I love the First Division, but Iskar was such a great character! Just because he wasn't a First Division warrior did not in any way detract from his total awesomeness or smexiness. He and Maribel were two of my favorite pair. The Commander is certainly up there with the General as two of my favorite Kordolians. The Darkstar Mercenaries series is going to be just as wonderful as the DPW books/series.

The only thing wrong with this book was that it was too short! But, another book is on it's way soon and that gives me hope. I have become a Kordolian junkie. I would so make a spectacle of myself should one cross my path.....

Thanks again, Ms. Carven for all your hard work and talent! I so look forward to all your books and can't wait for the next one.

Iskar and Mari are a great choice for the first in this new series. The story was well put together . It moved right along and did not lag with unnecessary description. I also liked that characters from Warriors continued through the story, making it more cohesive. I'm looking forward to more of these. I am still hoping for Aunt Kenna's lost Avian love to show up soon!
THIS IS JUST A TASTY TIDBIT. YOU HAVE TO DEVOUR THE WHOLE SERIES , IT'S A BANQUET OF DELICIOUS SILVER ALIENS. I have read them over and over, so much better then all the rest. Do yourself a favor, read them all.
My disclaimer.... I love Anna Carven's writing! I've read everything she's written at least 3times & will be reading them again. I came back to reread the Dark Planet Warriors & Darkstar series again after reading the recent release from her new & unrelated series(totally different but very good also) & this story while short, is very entertaining. I like that it's not about a 1st Division warrior, letting us learn something about the other Kordolians. Iskar is one of General Akkadian's 5 Commanders & specifically the one chosen to lead his 2nd Division warriors on Earth. You can read it without having read the Dark Planet Warriors series but it'll be much more enjoyable if you do. All her books are available through Unlimited also which I think is an awesome value if you read a lot but there so worth buying too!
This is the first book in a spin-off of the Kordolian stories, taking place on Earth. The Commander of Security troops on Earth goes out for New Years Eve to observe humans celebrating and a pickpocket tried to steal a valuable medal from him. He gives chase to this beautiful girl with blue hair and when he catches up to her he’s kind of smitten. She lives in the poorest slum with her younger brother and stealing is how she pays her inherited debts to a monster called The Collector. Her brother escapes and goes in search of the Commander, who goes in to rescue her from a man The Collector sold her to. Lots of action and romance. I look forward to next book!
Love those sexy Kordolians. And the Commander is a keeper too. I do enjoy that while not a First Division soldier, you still see how the 'grunts' are just as bad ass as them. This short was a great interlude between the full length, and quite nicely short and to the point while still giving us a sexy, love mate scene. I also enjoyed the small bits with the General and that it answered my question if why the Kordolians don't settle the South and North Poles since that would be where they'd be most comfortable. Love this series and can't recommend it enough.
Really enjoyed the story. Well-written - characters have a nice depth, interactions believable. Rescue felt a bit rushed & I missed the more involved, richness-of-scene, in their seduction (vs the General's). I found both characters interesting & engaging - I was left wondering what her focus will be in the future - what will a super-intelligent, retired thief do while he's working? I got so caught up in the story I just couldn't put it down. I've been reading some really light weight stuff lately & the comparison of those reads to Ms Carven's seems even more extreme just because I haven't read such good stuff in a while. Here's hoping her next one does come out in March 2018.
While I always enjoy reading Ms. Carven's books, I felt this one fell a little short of the others. The development of the relationship between Iskar and the female lead did not have that delicious build up or tension that allows us more insight into who they really were or how they really felt. They met for a few minutes, she gets in trouble, he rescues her, and then they are together! What, that's it? No true insight into Iskar which is too bad. He had the potential to be a badass just like Tarak. Of course, we all know that no one is a bigger, badder, alpha than Tarak!
